The Beginner/introductory series is designed specifically for the student new to yoga or new to the Iyengar Method of Yoga. These classes introduce poses “asanas” and the basic principles of alignment.


Intro - Level 1

Intro - Level 1

Intro-Level 1 is a continuation of the introductory class and progressively introduces more Level 1 asanas.


Level 1

Level 1

Level 1 is an ongoing class for students with a basic understanding of the postures. Level 1 classes introduce the next level of asanas, such as backbends, forward bends and inversions. The class will cover the fundamental yoga asanas and build on them week by week. Perfect for both newcomers to Iyengar yoga and practitioners ready for a reboot after a long hiatus.


Level 1 - 2

This combined Level class means the focus will be level 1 but will start introducing Level 2 concepts and poses.


Level 2

Level 2

Level 2 is for students with a consistent practice in the Iyengar Method of Yoga. Students must have knowledge of and practice the level 1 asanas and inversions with confidence.


Level 3 - 4

Level 2 - 3

These levels are quite challenging and explore the more advanced asanas. These poses penetrate deeper within the individual. One’s sensitivity in the postures increases on a physical, organic (physiological), mental and spiritual level. To attend this class, students must be at least a level 2 practitioner or have a minimum of 2 years of a steady Iyengar Yoga practice.

A minimum of one year's experience with the Iyengar Yoga method is suggested. However, modifications and progressions will be thoughtfully provided for those who may need them.


Gulnaaz Dashti

Gulnaaz Dashti Yoga Club

Gulnaaz Dashti instructs the Yoga Club sessions, where participants systematically explore the curriculum spanning levels 1 through 4. A minimum of one year of experience in Iyengar Yoga, coupled with a dedicated practice, is recommended to fully grasp and engage with Gulnaaz's instructions. Drawing from her extensive 30-year tenure studying and teaching at RIMYI in Pune, India, she generously imparts the wisdom and anecdotes surrounding the teachings of BKS Iyengar.


Gentle Yoga

This Gentle Iyengar Yoga class focuses on aging gracefully, mobility and ailment recovery. Designed for all levels, this class focuses on gentle poses, breath awareness, and precise alignment, promoting a sense of ease and rejuvenation. Whether you're a beginner or seeking a soothing practice,this gentle class will help cultivate balance, flexibility, and inner peace in a supportive environment. This class uses props for support and adaptations of traditional asanas (poses.) Because this class is slower paced it allows you to explore the subtleties of Iyengar Yoga with care and embrace the therapeutic benefits of Iyengar Yoga.


Restorative

Restorative

This slow, relaxing practice is intended to calm the mind and restore the body. Based on the Iyengar method, postures are modified and supported with props, making it accessible to all ages and abilities. Each pose and sequence is designed to bring about a beneficial physiological response, helping you feel open, balanced and restored.


Pranayama

Pranayama

Within a pranayama session, various breathing patterns are introduced  to improve both lung capacity and mental focus. Sitting postures are prolonged, demanding a minimum of one year of regular practice for students to comfortably sustain these positions.
